Safety is Essential For Construction Industry to Draw Women Workers
by Connie Ashbrook

Published: September 11th, 2013

What does it take to build safety awareness and practice in a new worker? What are the concerns and needs of women working in the construction industry? These are two questions we keep in mind as we design Oregon Tradeswomen Inc. programs. OTI teaches women and girls about construction and prepares them for work in the industry and other blue-collar ones. It also provides an opportunity for tradeswomen to build their leadership skills – including advocacy for a safer workplace environment.
