Encompassing over 30 million work hours in Oregon since 1998, Intel's construction projects have set the benchmark for safe construction in the Pacific Northwest. Brett also helped introduce an international standard for safe construction at Intel's new site in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam from 2006-2009.

After returning to Oregon from Vietnam, Brett served as EHS Director for Skanska's Oregon Division, helping a major international contractor continue institutionalizing Injury-Free culture.

Brett's work with Intel's Injury-Free Environment initiative has led to partnerships with many general contractors, subcontractors and trade unions in the area, as well as participation in the OR-OSHA Multi-Employer Workplace Task Force as an owner representative. Brett serves on the Board of Directors of the Greater Portland Construction Partnership, a collaboration of owners, general contractors, trade contractors, labor, design firms and insurers committed to making Portland the safest place in the world for construction.

Today, Brett consults with companies that want to make safety culture the foundation for organizational success.

Brett holds a degree in Management from Rice University in Houston, Texas, where he lived for 10 years. Brett grew up in New Orleans, and also lived in Albuquerque, New Mexico just prior to moving to Oregon with Intel in 1997. He, his wife and 9-year-old daughter love to ski, sail, cook and listen to jazz.
