Depression, anxiety, stress, addiction and suicide have big impacts on workers, families, peers, unions and companies. Yet, most of us cannot recognize the warning signs of a mental health crisis and wouldn't know how to respond if we or someone we know was in distress.
SafeBuild Alliance is proud to present two Mental Health Awareness and QPR: Suicide Prevention training sessions in September. Join Dan "DJ" Johnson of Skanska and Kelly and Julie True of General Sheet Metal in a panel discussion about the impact of mental health in the workplace and at home and the importance of raising awareness and starting a conversation about mental well being.
Panel discussion will be followed by a QPR: Suicide Prevention training. Just as people trained in CPR help save thousands of lives each year, people who receive training in QPR (Question-Persuade-Refer) learn to recognize the warning signs that someone may be contemplating suicide, offer hope and identify how to get help and save a life.
Attendees will receive mental health and suicide prevention toolbox kits, including refrigerator magnets, wallet cards and hardhat stickers for your employees.
Each training session will be limited to 35 people.
